Support Services | LIFELINE®
HealthOutreach of Weill Cornell makes it possible to obtain additional
peace of mind through a program called LIFELINE®a home emergency
response service that is designed to help people maintain their independence
by providing them access to emergency assistance 24-hours a day.
In case of a serious accident or urgent matter, you or someone you love will be able to alert the Emergency Response Center at the NewYork Presbyterian Hospital by simply pressing a button. Our paramedic staff will contact the home and determine if help is needed, and if necessary, an ambulance or other assistance will be sent immediately.
Who Can Benefit from LIFELINE?
The LIFELINE® program isnt just for older adults. We have participants ranging in age from 30 years old to our oldest at age 102. In fact, our subscribers represent all walks of lifefrom individuals who are employed full-time and live independently to those who are homebound and in need of 24-hour assistance, including:
People living alone
Individuals recovering from surgery
Individuals with heart problems
People with diabetes
The disabled or handicapped
Individuals who are bedridden
Pregnant women or new mothers
LIFELINE® offers a sense of security and independence to the user, and provides reassurance to concerned family members and caregivers. It is a fee-for-service program offered through HealthOutreach at NewYork Weill Cornell Medical Center, and includes the equipment and rental monitoring service.
