For over 75 years the social work department of NewYork Weill Cornell has provided services across the continuum of care to patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The department is comprised of approximately 85 master’s prepared social workers, discharge planning nurses and support staff. The social work department works to improve the quality of life and serve as an advocate for patients, families and significant others. Additionally, the social work department helps to provide education and training to patients, families, and the community at large.
